TOURNIQUET

It is applied on single bones. (Applied to the biceps on the arm and thigh bone on the leg) Tourniquets should be applied for serious life-threatening bleeding that cannot be prevented by any other method. A tourniquet is only necessary when a large blood vessel (artery) is cut. The tourniquet should be placed slightly above the wound, just above the joint and not touching the wound.
